At Kigali Pan-Afrikan kitchen, we use food as a symbolic statement that represents the diversity, unity, and vibrance of Afrikan foods from around the continent.
We acknowledge the common history and struggles of Afrikan people worldwide, including the Afrikan diapsora. Although we have all had many distinct and unique journeys, our common bonds are based on the shared values of Ubuntu ("I am because we are"), family, resilience, flavor, style, spice, improvisation, and our unique DNA that defines who we are.
We are featuring foods from Rwanda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Senegal, and many other regions within Afrika. Afrika's borders are artificial and do not always reflect the indigenous cultural fabric of the continent. Yet still, we express our unity through diversity and we aim to reflect all of this through our food.
Please bear with us as we build this site. When completed, it will feature food combinations that are rarely available in any other restaurant that we know of in Rwanda.
